Apple Charlotte - on target at Newmarket

The Royal Applause filly, owned by De La Warr Racing, was sent off a 9/1 chance in the first division of the 7f maiden at Newmarket today.

She was held up in touch by jockey Ian Mongan who allowed her to take closer order from the two-pole.

She went to the front at the furlong-marker and showed a good attitude to get the job by a length and three parts.

Cecil said: "I'd hoped she would run well and she did it quite nicely."
