One such two-year-old was Walk On Water, who made an impressive winning debut at Ascot two weeks ago.
This taking daughter of Exceed and Excel is be prepared for a conditions event at Chester next week ahead of perhaps bigger targets at the back-end.
Henry Cecil said: “I like to keep two year old fillies against their own sex so Walk on Water will go for a fillies’ only race at Chester.
“I have a few promising two year old fillies who can hopefully give a good account of themselves this autumn.”
Cecil also had news of his recent Group 1 scorer Midday.
He said: “Midday is resting before being trained for a crack at the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp on Arc weekend and then perhaps a trip to the Breeders’ Cup.”
Another eye catching performance from a Warren Place inmate was Manifest, who took a Newmarket maiden by no less than 19 lengths last Saturday.
Cecil reflected: “He won really nicely but as he has had only two races I do not want to take on older horses.
“I haven’t yet ruled out the St Leger but we’ll have to see what Father Time does as he runs for the same connections.”
"On the whole the horses are running well but with many of them rated highly in the handicap and a lack of conditions races it is hard to find opportunities for them."
