The son of Dansili, last seen winning the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot, strolled out nicely alongside Ajaan over an exte4nded mile.

He is set to reappear in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes a York next Tuesday ahead of a possible tilt at the final Classic of the year, the St Leger.

Trainer Henry Cecil said: “The plan since Ascot has been the St Leger.

“We gave him a short break after Ascot and decided that the Voltigeur was the perfect race to see where we’re at with him.

“He seems to be progressing nicely both mentally and physically and is very happy in himself.”

Also in action on racecourse side was Unnefer, who was doing his final piece of work ahead of his voyage to Deauville where he is set to contest the Group 3 Prix Gontaut Biron on Saturday.

Cecil added on the son of Danehill Dancer: “He seems in good form but it will be a competitive race.”
