Midday gave Cecil his first win at America’s biggest meeting when she landed the Filly and Mare Turf under a perfect ride from Tom Queally.

Cecil hinted at the daughter of Oasis Dream's genuineness and confirmed that she remains in training as a four-year-old.

He said: “Midday gave her all and thoroughly deserved this success; she will most probably stay in training next year.”

Conenctions were also delighted with Twice Over’s fine third behind Zenyatta in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Cecil said of the son of Observatory: “Twice Over ran his best race ever and hopefully we will go to the Dubai World Cup at the end of March with him. A mile and a quarter on the all-weather should suit him well.”

The trainer added: “We are very happy with our trip to Santa Anita but it was just a shame that Father Time ran no sort of race.”
