Stoic and Awinnersgame poised for Dubai contests

TRAINER Jeremy Noseda is hoping the Shalfleet success story will continue at the Dubai International Racing Carnival week when he saddles Stoic and Awinnersgame at Meydan on Thursday.

The Newmarket-handler’s 2010 desert campaign started with a bang last week when both his runners, Leahurst and Forgotten Voice put

up tremendous efforts to finish first and second in their respective races.

Stoic recorded a three-timer back in the autumn and since then has always been regarded as an ideal candidate for Dubai.

He will have to improve again to make his mark in this company but the son of Green Desert appears to have the right profile to do just that.

Noseda said: “Stoic runs in Dubai on Thursday. It’s now over five hours since declaration time and we still do not know whether Stoic will run in the mile or seven furlong race - or what draw we have.

“However, he has travelled well and is in good form. In an ideal scenario I’d like to run him over a mile but I think he has enough natural pace to do well over seven. Ryan Moore takes the ride.”

Awinnersgame has been a solid citizen over the past two seasons and took a conditions event at Yarmouth on his penultimate start last season.

Jeremy is happy with his charge's preparation and is hopeful for another bold showing from him.

Noseda added: “Awinnersgame will take his chance over six or seven furlongs. He has also settled in well but probably is not very well handicapped.

"He is very game and consistent and I’m sure he’ll put up a solid effort."
