LEAHURST will bid to enhance his credentials at the Dubai International Racing Carnival when he lines up in the 6f handicap at Meydan on Thursday.

The son of Verglas ran out an impressive winner of his desert debut three weeks ago and connections are hopeful of another bold showing from him.

Trainer Jeremy Noseda said: “I was very pleased with his first run. Dave Bradley, who is in charge for me out in Dubai, has been very happy with him since that run.

“We have decided to try him over six furlongs which we believe will suit him and feel that he is ready to put up another good performance.”

A field of 12 has been declared and jockey Ryan Moore will take the ride.

Ryan Moore will also be aboard Awinnersgame who takes his place in the line-up for the 7f handicap on Friday.

Noseda was satisfied with his seasonal reappearance at the Carnival two weeks ago and is looking to the son of Kyllachy to be competitive in Friday’s event.

He said: “I was satisfied with his first run. He’ll be sharper for that outing and will be suited by the step up to seven furlongs and I feel that he should be competitive.”

The trio from Shalfleet will be completed by Stoic who will bid to return to winning ways in the mile conditions race on Friday.

The son of Green Desert was a fast finishing second over seven furlongs on his last start at the Carnival and the return to a mile should suit him well.

Noseda added: “Unfortunately he has been balloted out of the mile handicap for a second time, so we have been forced to run in the conditions event where he will meet high-class horses on very disadvantageous terms. “
