Chapple-Hyam happy with campaign start

PETER CHAPPLE-Hyam is set to have several runners over the next week as he looks to build on a useful start to the campaign at St Gatien Stables.

PCH - team in solid form

The Newmarket-based trainer registered his first winner of the year with Open Sesame scoring last week, while Avoir Choisi and Thief Of Time were second either side of that success.

Capefly also made the frame, finishing a creditable third on what was her first run in 261 days.

Chapple-Hyam said: “I’ve been really pleased with the way the horses have been running.

“It was obviously good to get that first winner of the year on the board, plus we’ve had a couple of other very encouraging performances.”

Avoir Choisi seeks to step up on his Kempton second when he returns to the Surrey track tomorrow night. The Choisir colt will be favoured by the return to 7f and can hopefully break his maiden.

There is a second career start planned for Signella this Friday when she heads to Lingfield for a 1m 2f maiden.

The Selkirk filly will benefit for stepping up in trip and has been pleasing her trainer with her homework.

Thief Of Time will be worthy of respect on his second career start this Saturday at Lingfield after going down by a diminishing head at Kempton last week.

The Clodovil colt travelled strongly that day and finished his race in a style that suggested this weekend’s easy mile at Lingfield should be ideal/

Capefly could also feature on the same card as she is entered in the 6f handicap.
