St Gatien team v the elements
Go Back

NEWMARKET, like the rest of the British Isles, has been in the grip of a wicked cold snap but it’s been just about business as usual at St Gatien Stables.

St Gatien sends its best wishes to Sally

The staff have been doing an excellent job ensuring that the yard has been safe and in working order.

There’s only been the odd day when the horses haven’t been out on the Heath and despite overnight snow flurries and biting winds Peter Chapple-Hyam was overseeing his team on Warren Hill this morning.

It was absolutely arctic watching them routine canter and Lily the dog had the long straw, remaining in the Chapple car while everyone else froze outside.

Second lot saw the two-year-olds out at exercise and all of them just about look to be going forward in encouraging fashion.

While the weather hasn’t managed to dampen spirits, there has been a bit of bad news: poor Sally Wall sustained a broken leg after suffering a kick and is currently in hospital.

It goes without saying that everyone connected to the yard sends their best and wishes Sally a swift recovery
