But at this point of the year it is ideal for taking the string up a notch in terms of fitness ahead of extended fast work.
Plus, because it is undulating, it teaches inexperienced horses something as they learn how to get themselves organised.

Among those on the premises were Winker Watson who moved exceptionally well despite the soft nature of the ground being far from ideal for him.
Ridden by Adrian McCarthy, the four-year-old Piccolo colt was really using himself adeptly, pulling his hind legs through in taking fashion as he went out about his work.
Exceptional Art, a six-length maiden winner last season, was another to please as he strode out for Andrew Liggins.
Tariq (Barry Tervitt) looked on good terms with himself as did Alhaque.
Sayif (John Lowe) went through the motions with no problems and smart two-year-old Monitor Closely had Alan Munro for company as he came up with one other.
The filly to catch the eye in her exercise was Star Ruby (Danni Deverson) who did it all very easily with Select (Karolyn Moore).
