MONITOR CLOSELY takes his annual bow in the £400,000 Tattersalls Timeform 3-Y-O Trophy at Newmarket tomorrow.

The Oasis Dream colt showed smart form at two, finishing sixth in the Tattersalls Timeform Million which was won by subsequent Breeders’ Cup winner Donativum with Racing Post Trophy Crowded House held in second.

Laurie Inman’s horse went on to break his maiden at Newbury and steps up to 1m 2f on his 2009 return.

Trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam said: “He will improve for it but he is fit enough to run.

“It is a tough race which you would expect for the money. The way he works, it looks as if he wants this trip.”

Chapple-Hyam also has Jack Cool declared for the 1m 2f maiden on the same card.
