TARIQ and Al Qasi warmed up for Saturday’s John O’Gaunt Stakes at Haydock with a decent workout on the Limekilns earlier this morning.

Tariq made a pleasing comeback after almost 10 months off the track when finishing sixth of 11 in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury 10 days ago.
He is entitled to move forward from that and moved well within himself in his exercise on the Long Gallop today.
Al Qasi was also in the same gallop with one other and showed up nicely ahead of his seasonal bow in the seven-furlong Group 3 this weekend.
Trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam said: “Tariq is in good form and the seven-furlong-trip is ideal.
“The likely soft ground will be no problem – he doesn’t mind getting his toe in. I’m hoping he’ll be very competitive.
“Al Qasi likes cut in the ground and is ready for his first run of the season.”
Group 1-placed Sayif is also entered up on the same card for a 6f Listed race on the same card.
But his participation is likely to come down to whether the ground dries out from its current state which is officially ‘soft’.
The son of Kheleyf looked in decent nick as he galloped at first lot earlier today.
Chapple-Hyam said: “Sayif worked well on Tuesday and I’m keen to run him but his best form is on fast ground so we’ll make a decision later this week.”
