Monitor pleases in Limekilns solo spin

MONITOR CLOSELY strode out in good style on the Newmarket gallops this morning as connections ponder whether to supplement him for the St Leger.

Owner Lawrie Inman was on hand to watch the son of Oasis Dream who showed that he has bounced out of the Great Voltigeur, which he won by four and a half lengths.

John Lowe was aboard as Monitor Closely blew out over seven furlongs on the Limekilns.

Peter Chapple-Hyam said: "He worked nicely this morning and we are leaning towards supplementing him for the St Leger but much will depend on the ground remaining fast."

Select, second in a Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood, was another to work in solo fashion and looked in fine fettle.

She will be considered for either the Sceptre Stakes or a Listed race at Ascot at the end of September.

Trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam was also getting busy with his two-year-old team. Owner Lawrie Inman’s juvenile pair Coordinated Cut and Strong Vigilance pleased in their respective exercises.

Child Of Our Time and a Sadler’s Wells filly also showed up nicely as they went with a three-year-old filly.
