'Leger worth a shot' - Chapple-Hyam

The son of Oasis Dream somewhat belatedly staked his claims for the year's final Classic when bolting up in the Great Voltigeur at York at York last month.

Connections have been waiting on the weather before commiting to this weekend's 1m 6f contest at Doncaster but this morning decided to roll the dice.

Trainer Chapple-Hyam said: "We have decided to supplement Monitor Closely for the St Leger - chances to have a crack at a Classic don't come along very often.

"We were delighted with his win in the Great Voltigeur and feel it is worth having a shot at the Leger now.

"His work since York has been good and we are just hoping that the ground remains on the quick side."
