Morana earns step up in class

THE Peter Chapple-Hyam- trained Morana is set for a rise in class tomorrow when he contests the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Ascot.

The son of Alhaarth is still a maiden following two runner-up efforts behind two well touted rivals at Sandown and Goodwood.

However, Chapple-Hyam is confident that his colt can put up a bold showing and thoroughly deserves this step up to pattern company.

He faces seven rivals including the three time winners’ Azizi and Frozen Power. Alan Munro takes the ride.

Brave Prospector will also be in action at Ascot in the Group 3 Bengough Memorial Stakes over six furlongs.

The son of Oasis Dream was drawn on the wrong side in the Ayr Gold Cup last time out but had won his previous start at the Doncaster St Leger meeting in good style.

His trainer believes that he remains in good form and can go close in what is a very competitive sprint.

Twenty speedsters have been declared with Brave Prospector coming from stall nine in the hands of Jamie Spencer.
